2. British Council — Great Scholarships
You apply through the university, not the British Council. Each university has its own subject-specific criteria. Verify that your chosen university is at Green RAG tier before committing to a Great Scholarship application.

5. How to Win a UK Scholarship
Chevening requires 4 essays and references. Starting late is the single most common reason for weak applications.
Chevening = leadership. Commonwealth = academic excellence + development. Great Scholarships = subject motivation. Never recycle the same statement.
Both Chevening and Commonwealth require return to Nepal. Generic "I will help Nepal" statements are the most common rejection reason. Be precise about which sector, which role, which measurable impact.
While awaiting government scholarship results, apply for university merit awards. Many are automatic — no extra effort — and significantly reduce your funding gap.
