Start with the chosen course’s document instructions. Organise identity and academic records, English evidence and any requested references, statement or portfolio. There is no single document list that applies to every UK course, and the admission file is separate from later NOC, CAS and visa checks.
Make a checklist for each course
Create one row for each university and course, with the application route, intake, document request, deadline and source link. Record whether an item is required now, can follow later or is conditional on your circumstances. Use the institution’s wording when an instruction is unclear.
Undergraduate UCAS applications and direct postgraduate applications have different workflows. UCAS now supports document uploads for 2027 entry. Follow the options and instructions in your own application rather than sending the same bundle to every organisation.

Prepare readable identity and academic records
Check the spelling of your name and the dates across identity records, certificates and transcripts. Include complete pages in the correct order and retain the original files. If a name or date differs, ask the institution what explanation and evidence it needs; do not edit an official record to make it match.
Ask how interim results, completed awards, translations and verification should be supplied. Sheffield’s postgraduate guidance describes original-language documents with official translations where needed. Use that as an example of a requirement to check, not a rule that every institution processes documents identically.
- Use descriptive filenames with the document type and your own name.
- Check scans are legible, complete and within the portal’s format and size limits.
- Keep a list of documents still pending and the person who can issue them.

Prepare course-specific supporting evidence
A requested personal statement should explain your own academic preparation, subject interest and plans. A CV should use a consistent month-and-year history. Choose referees who can supply the type of reference the university requests, and give them time to respond.
Some courses ask for a portfolio, research proposal or professional evidence. Other courses do not require a statement at the initial stage. Hertfordshire’s postgraduate application guidance and Sheffield’s supporting-document guidance illustrate why the individual course instructions matter.

Check English evidence and review the final submission
Record the exact accepted English evidence, required component results and any validity condition stated by the course. If you want an alternative to a test, ask admissions for a written decision based on your own background. An unconfirmed waiver is an outstanding condition.
Before submission, read the application with the supporting documents open. Check course title, campus, intake, contact details, qualification dates and employment history. If an adviser submits it, agree how you approve the final version and receive the application reference. Keep copies of what was actually submitted.
Keep admission, NOC, CAS and visa files separate
An offer can contain conditions that still need to be met. Track each condition, evidence item and due date. Keep later tuition receipts and university correspondence with the relevant offer version so a deferral or course change can be traced.
GOV.UK lists a passport or valid travel document and a CAS for a Student visa, with additional evidence depending on circumstances. University admission documents are not a substitute for those requirements. Nepal’s NOC process is separate too; use the official service’s current instructions for that application.

Common questions
Which documents do Nepali students need for a UK university application?
Check the course’s list. Common categories include academic records, identity information, English evidence and requested supporting material such as a reference, statement or portfolio. The exact requirements vary.
Do all UK universities require an SOP?
No universal statement requirement is assumed here. Check whether your course requests a statement and follow its prompt, format and length. Use your own accurate experience.
Can I upload documents through UCAS for 2027?
UCAS provides a document upload service for 2027 entry. Use the relevant sections and guidance in your application, and follow any additional instructions from your chosen universities.
Should I upload personal documents to this website?
No. This publication does not accept university applications or personal document uploads. Submit through the official institution, UCAS or government service specified for your process.
